Why Katowice 2014 stickers cost a fortune
Kato '14 capsules were sold exactly once — in March 2014 — and will never return. Since then every craft and every scrape burns a copy for good: supply has been shrinking for twelve straight years. A craft is a skin with stickers applied — up to four. Its price is the clean skin plus the overpay: the share of sticker value a buyer will give back. An ordinary craft sells around $110–125 (5–12% of sticker value on top), a fresh spectacular build at $140–160 (20–30%), and only a full set of four identical expensive stickers can push overpay past the price of one whole sticker. What drives the percent up: the skin's own tier, first-person sticker visibility, and wear condition.
Scraping a sticker destroys it with no refund, and partial scraping changes the look forever. Trades do not get reversed over it — before any craft deal, inspect sticker condition yourself instead of trusting the seller's screenshot.
Ready-made builds are their own steady market: buyers hunt for a finished craft on a specific skin rather than assembling one.
